The specific skill I choose is jogging a mile (4 laps) on the track. The components of the skills are a proper warm-up, the activity which in this case is jogging 4 laps around an outdoor track, and cool down. I usually start my run around 6-7 PM and the sun has already set by then.
Script: Imagine a dark sky, look up at the moon if it’s out today, see the outdoor field and the black track, feel yourself walking down the steps to where the steps end and the track begins. You can feel the track in the soles of your shoes, the material is bumpy yet springy. Walk over to the green field where you can begin a warm-up: do 20 jumping jacks, 15 squats, 10 lunges on each leg, and 20 seconds of high knee jumps in place, then jog one lap. When doing

After the warm-up lap, when you get back to where you started, fix anything you need to such as your hair, your watch, your music, and headphones. Then just begin jogging. Move your feet and hand as if you were actually starting to jog (jog in place). As you jog, breath as hard and loud as you need to. Hear the sound your foot makes as you run and also of those that maybe be in front or behind you. Stay alert of your surroundings if someone is coming up behind you or if you need to pass …show more content…
How did using imagery affect you and your performance? Did it help at all – in performance psychological state, preparation, specific moves, etc.?
This imagery did affect my performance, it calmed my nerves down a bit and it mentally prepared me for exactly what I was going to do. While jogging I tried to get into a mindfulness state, which just made me enjoy jogging more since it relived some stress.
2. How easy or difficult was it to use imagery with your activity? What was easy or difficult?
It was easy to use the imagery with my activity since I felt like I knew exactly what to do, and what to pay attention to. The hard part was getting into the mindful state where I was focusing on my breath and not judging whatever thoughts came up. Also, there were parts of the script that I just forgot to think about during the jog like when I am tired to just worry about the next step, I actually took a break because I was tired around the second and a half lap.
3. How could you revise your script or change your practice to make it more helpful? (e.g., add details, change components, revise timing or

For this project, the first thing that my group and I did was research what needed to be known, such as: running techniques, diet plans, recommended stretches, appropriate running attire, and how velocity and acceleration help the runner in seeing how they can improve. After we gathered all of our research, we documented it and filed it until it was needed. The next step was the running. Materials needed for this portion are a stopwatch, a meter stick, calculator, and appropriate running gear.…

The skill I selected is acceleration because it determines how quickly the runner can reach its full. The ways APC is improving my acceleration is by power clean, and glute hamstring raises because it mostly focuses on the lower body. Power clean shows it importance by performing with a fairly high amount of weight while accelerating rapidly. This quote helps supports my evidence, “In a meta-analysis, Wilson et al. reported a significant interference effect of simultaneous AE and RT.…

(Amendroz Pg. 63) Imagery has reduced my anxiety by letting me image a play or routine that I need to complete throughout a game. One thing this has done is rapidly decrease my anxiety levels from a high level to a median level which is optimal for an athlete to work at their best. An example of where I used Imagery throughout training sessions and games is when I imagined myself performing a rucking routine. Imagery has improved my motivation by allowing me to imagine a play like for example a wrap or a dump slip before I go out and complete it out on the field.…

In order to generate a ten-song playlist that typically assists me in achieving physical health while doing exercises, I started to select music from those I usually listened to while I was walking or doing exercises. I was struggling at first when I simply sat down and selected songs in my iPod, because there seemed to be a lot of songs that could be chosen as long as the beats were not too slow and the styles were lively, which made me confused about how to limit the playlist to only ten songs and how to suitably match various kinds of exercises with different songs, in order to meet the physical health purpose. Later, I started to utilise Brunel Music Rating Inventory (BMRI), which was a psychometric measure developed and standardised by Karageorghis, Terry and Lane (1999) to evaluate the motivational qualities of music in sport and exercise settings. I chose running on the treadmill as the exercise I would assess the songs with by applying the most recommended version, the…
