Joey’s developmental milestone I would expect is some deficiencies are possibly language acquisition, emotional development, and attachment milestones. Because from birth Joey was separated from his paternal mother Amelia until he was three months old, due to the fact Emilia is addicted to crack cocaine and joey tested positive for having the drug in his system when he was born. According to the 19th-month developmental examiner’s report, Ryder is advanced in spatial skills, shown in activities such as building block towers to copy one made by the examiner, copying shapes, coloring within the lines, and solving picture puzzles. To be honest, I believe that this advancement is due to both environmental and biological factors because these two factors both influence child development and often coincide together. My hypothesis is that the biological factors caused Ryder’s desire to play indoor, quiet activities such as puzzles and with blocks, and the environmental factors fostered this. In the textbook, it explains that to support a babies’ fine and gross motor skills, parents must do three things. One, provide a stimulating environment.…

First, the case worker should have coordinated preliminary treatment plans for the initial stages of Gabriel’s placements. Here, the worker should have referred foster parents to speak with specialists or attend educational/informational classes on caring for children with unique social, cultural, and behavioral barriers. A class such as this would have been geared toward educating foster parents on identifying common behavioral disturbances, how to respond to future issues, and, importantly, warning signs of suicidal ideations. Plans set forth by the case worker should have also included family therapy sessions to better prepare Gabriel and his foster parents for their transitions in living situation. Next, the case worker should have worked together with the foster parents in collectively coordinating a step-by-step ongoing treatment plan to aid in Gabriel’s recovery, including continued family therapy sessions and weekly reports from the foster parents updating the case worker on Gabriel’s progress, changes in behavior, and/or any concerns that may have arisen.…

In focusing on the eight developmental stages, the counselor will focus on the stages of Hope: Trust vs. Mistrust, Will: Autonomy vs. Shame and Doubt, Purpose: Initiative vs. Guilt, Competency: Industry vs. Inferiority, and Fidelity: Identity vs. Role Confusion in Gary's life. The reason the counselor will use these stages is because of Gary's panic attacks, divorce, and denial of mental health and substance abuse in the past. The counselor has to be careful in the approach used because in the Hope stage trust has to be won because this could cause Gary to have a depressive psychological set-back. In the Will stage, Gary needs to know that he can move forward.…

According to an article titled Preemie Milestones on the website healthychildren when it comes to preemies and their development you should adjust their age to get a real sense of where they are developmental wise. For instance, since J.J is 26 weeks old, but was born 13 weeks early, subtract 13 from 26. This gives you 13 weeks. According to the Developmental Profiles, based on what I have observed I would say that Casey’s motor skills are in line with what a four year old should be doing. When she was outside on the play ground with the other children while running she was able to change directions without stopping first, hop on one foot, and skip. Also while on the playground she was able to climb the equipment. I also observed that when Casey is writing she is using the tripod grasp. She is also able to hold a spoon and feed herself without making a huge mess.…
