Joe Lewis was a point karate fighter, a kickboxer and an actor. He was born on March 7, 1944 in North Carolina, USA. He trained in Shorin-ryu karate, while he was stationed in Okinawa acquiring his Black Belt in seven months. Upon returning to the USA, he trained under the acclaimed martial artist/actor Bruce Lee. He was an accomplished fighter and had won U.S. National Grand Championship from 1966-1969, 1968 World Professional Karate Championships and several other tournaments in karate and kickboxing. In 1983, he was also voted the greatest karate fighter of all time.
