Given my life and the stage that I am currently at in making a transition from a teenager to a young adult, “Returning to What’s Natural” by Amelia Baxter-Stoltzfus was the logical essay to analyze. Amelia’s essay provides a central belief that I feel is not only relevant to me, but also many other college students. The author’s belief is that we have to continually grow and change as a person while still remembering where we come from. Although not easily noticeable, “Returning to What’s Natural” does display support to the central belief.…

All Who Wander May Truly Be Lost The process of curation is often seen as a process involving the molding and forming of a work of art, the dynamic behind curation is usually looked at backwards in the sense that the process is building something up rather than what it truly is which is tearing something down. Curation into beauty consists of shaping something by taking things away, and in The Lost Wax by Jericho Parms, the author shows this central theme throughout the book that a person is made and formed by the losses in their life. This theme is accentuated by stories in Parms’ life that implore love and loss, but these stories that on the surface may seem miscellaneous, at the same time they all point back to a metaphorical idea of curation.…

Prior to reading Gary Keller’s The ONE Thing, I was a victim. Uneducated and submerged by society’s common ignorance, I had the wrong perspective and mindset towards my professional life, and even my personal life. Overthinking things and stressing out over so many things as I went about my daily life in a “balanced”, “necessary” manner, I lacked the insight of where the source of true value comes from. However, now informed and therefore better equipped to change these ways, thanks to Gary Keller, I have been introduced to knowledge that can serve as a foundation for greater opportunity. Rather than going about whatever it is that I might do with a wide range of focuses, I instead have the perspective of finding one, narrowed focus, taking…
