Police departments are plagued with countless stressors that affect police officers during their tour of duty. Stressors associated with the job could stem from the lack of resources, limited personnel support, broken or missing equipment to properly perform assigned duties and responsibilities, and low morale. The objective is to identify the best course of action to address the concerns of these officers and still perform the duties of the department at the highest level possible. If management addresses the concerns of the officers, along with providing the necessities for the job, this will boost the overall performance level of the department as a whole.

The next concept would be based on conceptualization as the data collected can be used to determine the job satisfaction of each police officer within the department. A survey can used to collect realistic information on a scale from (1 to 5) where 1: illustrates a low level of job satisfaction and 5: illustrates a high level of job satisfaction. Gathering qualitative data should be done using a formula depicting the number of police officers who are either satisfied or not satisfied with their job in relation to the resources at the department’s disposal, whether or not the department is fully or understaffed, and based on the departments funding for adequate or inadequate equipment per each officer.
