On Tuesday January 17 we had for the first half of class the Job fair simulation, which having just gotten home from the job fair was super helpful. The one on one time with my teachers from the program really aided me in my two interviews this weekend. I was able to visit four tables during this job fair simulation. I spoke with the Fort mac public board, which I had an interview this weekend at the job fair, it was super helpful in preparing me in for the interview I had, I also spoke with Garnet and Joanne, who both were really helpful. I really found this helpful in preparing us for interviews and how to handle ourselves at the job fair. Some of the challenges were that there were so many of us there that some people did not get to see …show more content…
We discussed this, which is a chance for students to take a break during class to stop what they are doing to reflect on what is happening, to recall their lessons, and gain an understanding of what is being said to them. We actually had a chance to experience writing breaks in the class during a video. One thing I found that I was able to focus more on the movie when I had the questions first. I really liked the suggestion of if there is time to play it twice, once with out the questions and the second time giving the questions. Adaptations may be needed for students who need it. I feel this would be something helpful to use within the social studies classroom. Especially when having a lecture based class. Giving the chance for students to take a break during a lecture will help them process what is going on and being able to reflect and process what is being taught. Even when watching a video or a historical interview or movie giving theses writing breaks provides a chance for students to think about what is going on and what they are retaining and then they can put it into words. This will definitely be something I would like to try with my grade nines from

This week in field was not too busy, but was busy enough to allow me to experience and complete new tasks. Although the tasks completed this week were not very challenging, they allowed me to come in contact with some of the competency skills. Competency skill 9 was re-introduced from last week. I was to report to the Arthurtown site and intern under the supervision of Ms. Julia. Ms. Julia had me continue to sort through employee files; looking for forms any of the teachers may have been missing or needed to update.…

ACES Career Fair Reflection I was amazed as I walked into the ACES Career Fair. I knew there would be a lot of businesses at this event, but I was not able to quantify just how many until I walked around. Since I grew up on a grain farm, I have been familiar with many of these companies surrounding me, such as John Deere, AgriGold, and Pioneer. However, before the career fair, I still researched what companies would be present on Handshake, and I formulated a plan to speak with AgriGold, DuPont Pioneer, Growmark, and Farm Business Farm Management (FBFM). Once I made this decision, I wrote down the tasks associated each internship position a company offered.…

Mock Interview Reflection The mock interview was closely related to the topics covered in the readings and in class. Getting practice using the techniques we have been learning in real time, with a real person, made the content more concrete. I was conscious of employing solution focused techniques as much as possible in the short time we had to conduct the interview. While my performance produced mixed results, the practice was a good start to becoming an expert using the technique. Introduction Throughout the past few weeks, communication in a fast food workplace was recorded and analysed. This report will summarise the experiences had and reflect on the interactions between multiple types of customers, co-workers and myself that occurred over the past work shifts. Summary These interactions all occurred in a fast food restaurant in the middle of a food court in a local shopping centre and usually only last up to 5 minutes when dealing with customers. Over the course of two 8-hour shifts on alternating weekends I came into contact with many different groups of people ranging in gender and age in my workplace, mainly my co-workers, different types of customers and my boss or manager.…
