I was able to choose which career center to attend. I started Job Corps on April 12th, 2016. I decided to come to Woodland Job Corps in Laurel, Maryland because at this center only two students share a dormitory room. There was another Job Corps to choose, Woodstock Job Corps, but the center had four students share a dormitory room. Four to a room would be too many roommates for me. With my loner personality there was too much of a chance for a struggle to getting along with so many roommates. One thing I learned about myself is people can irritate me very easily. After a couple weeks in the program I began to socialize with less students and staff because I found myself getting into minor disagreements. For the most part staff at Woodland are caring and provide students with the support needed to complete the program. I believe that it was God’s decision for me to attend Job Corps. Job Corps gave me the advantage to be a seventeen year old with a trade hospitality. Obtaining my trade in hotel and lodging makes me more employable than most teens in my age range. Also I will have my high school diploma before age eighteen. I never thought I would be seventeen years old with the accomplishments I have. Even though I haven’t started work base yet my goal is to complete the program in December of this
