InterClean has just merged with EnviroTech and has taken on a new strategic direction. The company will provide full-service cleaning solutions for organizations in the health care industry and no longer sell only cleaning products. A talent inventory is a fundamental requirement of an effective WP system and helps to assess current skills, abilities, and potential of the employees (Cascio, 2006). To be successful as a sales team member at InterClean, the soft and hard skills necessary are as follows:
1. Proactive in assessing client needs and providing excellent customer service, and develop trust and long-term customer relationships. 2. Ability to listen actively and convert problem-solving opportunities to sales revenues. 3. Strong communicating skills both externally and internally. 4. Organizational and excellent follow-through skills. 5. Understand corporate strategies and goals and be able to deliver those goals. 6. Must be creative in developing solutions for clients and be a long-term strategic thinker. 7. Have a minimum of three years sales experience in the industrial cleaning and sanitation industry. 8. Informed in the legal, environmental, safety, ethical and regulatory issues, and OSHA standards as it relates to the business and the industry. 9. Understands that training is a benefit to oneself and customers.
