A woman named Joan was nominated by her daughters, Cindy and Christine, to get a makeover, and the footage of their nomination was shown on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Cindy and Christine say that their mother's hair has resembled a beehive for as long as they can remember, and Joan says that she wakes up every Wednesday at 5:30 a.m. in order to style her hair for the week.

In the video, Joan says that completing the style usually takes about four hours. To begin, she must remove a total of 12 bobby pins from her hair. Then, she brushes it and washes it in the sink.
