Imagine believing in something so fervently that you would die for that simple idea. During the Hundred Years War Joan of Arc claimed to have received visions from the Archangel Michael, Saint Margaret and Saint Catherine, all of whom told her to support Charles VII to recover France from English rule. She was later put on trial and burned at the stake for heresy and died at the age of nineteen. The idea of believing in something that much, to the point that I would rather be burned at the stake than renounce my beliefs, is so foreign to me it might as well be written in archaic Latin.
