To begin with, Joan of Arc was born in 1412 A.D. and she lived at home with her parents and siblings until 1428A.D.. She had three brothers named: Jacquemin, Jean and Pierre and one sister named Catherine. She was an average peasant girl who lived an ordinary life, “She learned to sew and spin thread and to help her mother around the house; she also worked with the livestock” (Goldstone, 79). Joan would complete her goal of recapturing the city of Remis. “ Later that month, Charles VII was crowned king of France, with Joan of Arc kneeling at his feet” (Siege of Orleans). Remis was the city in which coronations were held so in recapturing it Joan made it possible to have Charles crowned the king thus completing her mission of helping Charles gain the French throne.
Finally Joan had completed her original mission however this is not where her story ends. “In the spring of 1430, the king ordered Joan to confront a Burgundian assault on Compiégne. In her effort to defend the town and its inhabitants, she was thrown from her horse, and was left outside the town’s gates as they closed.” (Joan of Arc).
