Joan Of Arc Dbq

Joan of Arc, otherwise known as the Maid Of Lorraine, helped end the Hundred Years war. She accomplished this by inspiring and uniting the French army. Her life began when she was born into the village of Domremy. When Joan was just around the age of ten, she had begun to hear the voices of who she thought belonged to god and various saints. She believed they were speaking to her to help guide her through life. When she was around fifteen, it was the middle of the hundred years war when knights from Burgundy came into her village and burned it to the ground. This is when she heard a saints voice telling her to go to the lord also known as, Sir Robert and seek his help traveling to the capital of France so she could speak to Dolphine Charles. All though Sir Robert did not believe the she was a saint he sent her anyways. When Joan arrived at the capitol she spoke to Dolphine Charles and told him that he needed to let her lead the French army and have himself crowned the king of France. But just like Sir Roberts he did not believe in her but let her lead the troops in an attempt to give them something to believe in. At Orleans, Joan led the French victory between the Burgundians and the British. Alongside her was her new found friend and ally, John of Mets, who was a knight. During this Joan was shot in the shoulder with an arrow but then had the arrow pulled from her shoulder so she could continue fighting. It was at this point the French troops and the newly crowned king started to believe that Joan truly was the Maid of Lorraine.
