Jo Daviess Country Board Meeting Paper

On Tuesday, January 9th, I went to a Jo Daviess Country Board Meeting. This meeting was held at the Jo Daviess county courthouse in Galena Illinois. The meeting was called to order by R.J Winkelhake. The secretary called roll everyone was present except Rick Dittmar and like two more. The county board members are R.J Winklehake, Steve Allendorf, Brandon Behlke, Maryanne Bennett, William Bingham, Rick Dittmar, Robert Heuerman, Don Hill, Randy Jobgen, Steven McIntyre, John Shultz, Ron Smith, Scott Toot, LaDon Trost, Martin Werner and Don Zillig. Following with the pledge of allegiances and then a prey which I though was different in my opinion. There are a number of lead and waste piles in the Galena river watershed. This project is being headed up by the league of women voters, in order to test area water ways. They are making sure the water and everything is safe for the tourist and wildlife that come to the area of Jo Daviess County. They are researching this so people can have safe water to drink.
Another additional topic at the meeting was a special use permit for conducting weddings, family reunions and other special events. It was recommend by the planning commission and zoning board in December. Pam and Steve Ehrler want to use the special used permit to amend the closing time for any of their events that they have. Upon the recommendation of the planning commission and zoning board of appeals the application from Steve and Pam Ehrler to change the closing time on their special used permit was passed.
