Jimmy Ray Bromgard was a man convicted for a crime he did not commit: the rape of an 8-year-old girl in 1987. He was put in jail for 15 years before he was exonerated. The other 2 men were Larry Ruffin and Philip Bivens. There were many issues with this case. First, the four year old son said there was only one man that killed his mother, not three. Ruffin did confess to the murder, but all of his points of the story seemed contradictory “Plea Bargaining”. This is the first sign of the wrong conviction because three men should not have been accused and convicted of this murder. The DNA matched a man who was already in prison for a rape he was caught for. All 3 men were exonerated after 30 years in prison, but unfortunately Ruffin had died 11 months earlier.
