Jimmy Carter started out as the governor of Georgia. He also had 4 years of a political career under his belt before going into the election. Carter wasn’t running in the polls, had very little money in to finance his campaign for his election, and no political base. It was very surprising for everyone when Carter was elected. The election was between Carter and Ford. Carter was the Democratic Party and Ford was the Republican Party. The election was very close but Carter was able to just pull it off.
Carter was the 39th president. He did some good things for our country and many other countries. Carter brought together all kinds of different cultural groups. He influenced on the Israel/ Egypt peace treaty. He also made it a right for different

    He started by moving to bring peace between Israel and Egypt through the Camp David Accords. Though he did not succeed in bringing peace to the Middle East he did succeed in his policy to get Egypt and Israel to sign a treaty. If Carter was not so determined to get the treaty signed by the two countries then the treaty would not have happened.
