Good morning, I am Luke McKenzie and for the next few minutes I will be telling you about the life of Jimmy Carter and why he is someone we should all strive to be like. America’s 39th president, Jimmy Carter came from a small country town from a humble family and life and fought his way to the top by beating racism out of the country and following his morals.

He has worked with Habitat for Humanity for years and he founded the Carter Presidential Centre which is used to support human rights. He has worked to develop health care systems in Africa and Latin America and he has not stopped working to get the world to help him make a difference to stop suffering. In 2002 he received the Nobel Peace Prize for all of his efforts to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development. He has also authored many books all about supporting human rights. Carter started his life as a quiet nobody from a country town and a loving family. He put in years of work to achieve what he wanted following by following his personal morals. Jimmy Carter has changed things for a lot of people and made their lives a whole lot better by supporting their human rights and stopping discrimination. He cared more about other people than he did himself and he worked hard to help them and that is something that everyone should strive to do. "God gives us the capacity for choice.
