Scott explained that her father retired in December 2014 and Judge Hadzick took over in January 2015. From a promised made over a year ago by the directors of the Metropolitan Water District (MWD), the Desert Compadres 4-H Club were finally granted the opportunity to visit Los Angeles and attend a special MWD board meeting on Tuesday, June 13. Traveling several times a year to Blythe to tour its desert facilities at Gene Camp, the Palo Verde Irrigation District Diversion Dam and the Palo Verde Valley itself, MWD representatives completed their tour for the day at the local hay press at HayDay Farms, where they were later served lunch by the 4-H Club. Dressed in their uniforms, the members of the Horse Project, were given the opportunity to not only serve at this luncheon, but also led the representatives into reciting the Pledge of Allegiance…
Nancy cruzan was 26 years old when she got into this car accident where she lost control of her car while driving at night and she was thrown from the vehicle and landed face down in a water filled ditched. Paramedics found her with no vital signs when she got in the crash but they resuscitated her. She was diagnosed as being in a persistent vegetative state , surgeons inserted a feeding tube for her long term care. In 1987 Cruzan's parents went to court to ask that the feeding tube be removed and that she be allowed to die a dignified death as they said she would have wanted.…
I would like to recognize Jed Smith as an exceptional individual as well as collegiate strength and conditioning coach. His knowledge, personality, and altruistic character led the University of Northern Iowa to new heights. I was a student-athlete at the University of Northern Iowa majoring in Exercise Science when Jed became the head strength and conditioning coach. Jed started a tradition and foundation at UNI on an academic level as well as athletic. Academically, he worked closely with the exercise science department to put more of an emphasis on strength and conditioning as a profession, which further led to both of my degrees in Exercise Science (i.e., M.A. and B.A.).…
John Thompson is no stranger to courtrooms. When one of his relationships took a turn for the worst, Thompson was given custody of his wife’s children and moved to another state. His soon to be ex-wife later accused Thompson of abusing her and sexually abusing her children. Thompson went to serve eighteen years in prison after being released for good behavior. Originally from Point Pleasant, West Virginia, Michael and his parents moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma when he was two years old. Michael’s young parents enjoyed drinking heavily and experimenting with drugs. Although his father was a hard worker, and his mother was a loving homemaker, they frequently drank and did drugs in the presence of their son. We are Barbara and Ben Hardesty, grandparents and guardians of Joseph Woods, whom we would like to enroll into Aaron Academy. Joseph is a 17 year old young man who would like to graduate High School and continue his education at College. Joseph has been expelled from Metro Nashville Public Schools, Cane Ridge High School, recently. We are appealing his expulsion, but even if we are successful in his appeal we, and he, feel it is in his best interest to begin home schooling for his education. It is our opinion that allthough MNPS has great intentions in educating the youth of Nashville, they are not succeding in Joseph's case.…
Within this previous month a Indiana state police trooper was fired, and is facing multiple lawsuits for preaching to motorist during traffic stops. Trooper Brian Hamilton was warned several times before to “Stop proselytizing to people during traffic stops”, but continued to pursue what he believed was “his calling of God”. Regardless of what Hamilton believed, his case spurred several lawsuits over the separation of church and state. Short Life, Lasting Impact “Some kids wish to be a cowboy, to be a princess, to be a chef, or a farmer, while other kids wish for a cure so they can grow up (Joe Wasser)”. Kyle Baker was one of the kids with the wish for a cure to demolish the sickness that ended up taking his life. Just a boy from Searcy, Arkansas who had to take on the world to overcome low survival rates of Pleomorphic Sarcoma, the monster that hid below where anyone could see. It was finalized that CIC-DUX4 Positive Round Sarcoma was his final diagnosis in July 2013 when he was sixteen years old which, started out as a swollen calf muscle. The Senate Honors Awardees at Distinguished Faculty Event Throughout their career, UC San Francisco faculty put in great efforts to respond to mentoring and teaching responsibilities.
