Jian Ghomeshi, former CBC radio host, pleaded not guilty in court to four counts of sexual assault and one count of overcoming resistance by choking.He was originally charged with seven different counts of sexual assault, however the Crown withdrew two charges, declaring that there was no reasonable prospect of conviction. All related assaults alleged to have been between 2002 and 2003. The woman in this story said the two had met and began flirting at a Christmas party in 2002. On their first occasion of osculation she said that Ghomeshi unexpectedly grabbed her hair "very hard." She claimed that on their second occasion alone, he suddenly pulled her by her hair, yanked her to her knees, and then punched her in the right side of her head.
