Alanna who had been struggling with her mom since her parents had split was going into high school as a senior. Also, she was second at the top of her class and it was her fourth year of volleyball. There in her living room stood her dad with a strong look on his face. Not a happy nor a mad look, it seemed deeper than that. Her parents started approaching her with open arms. Although Alanna did not know what was going she was going to find out soon and she knew it was something that wasn’t going to be good. “Dad? Wha-, what’s going on? Is everything okay?” Alanna said worried. “Honey, can sit please?” Her mother asked hesitant. “Mom, what’s all of this about?” “Baby, something bad has happened to Chase.” Chase was Alanna’s older brother who had moved with their father after the split. Their parents had an agreement to have joined custody and each would take a child but also keep in touch to allow each other to have a close relationship with one another. “So, what does that mean? Is he okay?” Alanna asked saddened by the news. “Well, sweetie we were going to pay him a visit him,” her mom in response. “Okay. Well can someone atleast explain to me what happened?” “Well, your brother was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. There was a shooting over at the corner store right around the corner from us, and he got hit by two of the bullets,” Her dad
