These individuals attain certain leadership qualities that has inspired not only us, but also the world. The leaders John F. Kennedy, Coach Boone, and Martin Luther King Jr. all possessed the formal leadership attributes that we studied in class.

He was a guy that did not want to go to war and put American lives on the line. He was trying for every alternative. Mr. Kennedy had to have a lot of conflict management throughout the 13 days because of the generals wanting to take military action. He had to keep reminding them if they did take drastic action then that would probably start world war three. The points on team building and empowering others goes back to how JFK had to show his cabinet and military leaders the big picture of how to keep the lives of the American people safe. JFK changed from the begging of the movie to the end by showing how confident and how good of a leader he was. He had to change them and make them understand each other’s story. He made them spend time with a teammate from another race. His first goal at the camp was to become a team. Boone never cared for their skin color. He cared for how they play and what kind of personality they have. To make them think more about for becoming a team, he shared a story at the night run and told them, “If we don’t come together right now on this hallowed ground, we too will be destroyed, just like they were.” He has the pride that every coach needs to have, “When you put that uniform, the Titan uniform, better come to work.” Boone has vision and sense of mission with making them run after every miss. He has everything needed for a great leader: sense of priorities, creativity and entrepreneurial, sense of humor, ability to resolve and create conflict, integrity, and knowledge. As a goal setter, the two goals were to become a team and champions. At the game he said, “I’m not gonna talk to you tonight about winnin’ and losin’. You’re already winners ’cause you didn’t kill each other up at the camp.”
Coach Boone knows that the small things, such as making the routine plays in the game, must be done first before the main goal can be achieved, winning the game. He also has a high expectancy of his team. He believes that the effort of his team will lead to performance and that the performance will lead to results. He expected his

Civility, Passion, Courage, and Vision are some of the most prominent qualities Kennedy portrayed as President of The United States of America. As a student and ILOT Award Winner I would demonstrate civility in relationships with my peers and professors, treating everyone fairly and working with fellow researchers to unearth mysteries and problems in society. I have a passion to learn, travel, and discover in all aspects as Kennedy was passionate in his writing of his famous essay “Nation of Immigrants”. One of my favorite qualities of Kennedy would be his courage whether that be the courage he demonstrated through the Cuban Missile Crisis or when he warned the American public of the secret forces behind the American Military Complex and impending…

I can humbly say this as all my coaches, both good and bad, have taught me in some way what it takes to be a good athlete and most importantly how to be a good human being. They have taught me life lessons that I can only hope to preserve by instilling them into my athletes in my time as a coach. The articles I have chosen to highlight in this essay show how coaches have helped to develop character in athletes, how they pushed them to be the best on and off the field of play, and illustrate how they stepped into the lives of athletes and became so much more than just a coach.…
