He was a guy that did not want to go to war and put American lives on the line. He was trying for every alternative. Mr. Kennedy had to have a lot of conflict management throughout the 13 days because of the generals wanting to take military action. He had to keep reminding them if they did take drastic action then that would probably start world war three. The points on team building and empowering others goes back to how JFK had to show his cabinet and military leaders the big picture of how to keep the lives of the American people safe. JFK changed from the begging of the movie to the end by showing how confident and how good of a leader he was. He had to change them and make them understand each other’s story. He made them spend time with a teammate from another race. His first goal at the camp was to become a team. Boone never cared for their skin color. He cared for how they play and what kind of personality they have. To make them think more about for becoming a team, he shared a story at the night run and told them, “If we don’t come together right now on this hallowed ground, we too will be destroyed, just like they were.” He has the pride that every coach needs to have, “When you put that uniform, the Titan uniform, better come to work.” Boone has vision and sense of mission with making them run after every miss. He has everything needed for a great leader: sense of priorities, creativity and entrepreneurial, sense of humor, ability to resolve and create conflict, integrity, and knowledge. As a goal setter, the two goals were to become a team and champions. At the game he said, “I’m not gonna talk to you tonight about winnin’ and losin’. You’re already winners ’cause you didn’t kill each other up at the camp.”
