The assassination of President Kennedy was a day that shocked the hearts of many Americans. Kennedy’s assassination was a significant moment that had marked the ending of World War II and the beginning of the riots of the 1960s and the early 1970s. According to The Good News, “Many Americans who remember that horrifying day are still trying to understand what it meant.”(McNeely, 2013) Kennedy’s assassination can be seen as a turning point in many ways because the assassination was carried throughout the American Society. His assassination was a turning point in many ways. There are two major reasons on why I think Presidents Kennedy’s assassination was a turning point. The first reason would be because it guided twenty years of social disturbance, and hard times in America. Things in America before Kennedy’s assassination were described as fairly calm, peaceful, and America as a country was doing very well. After Kennedy’s death, things got very rough. The second reason would be because of the rise of the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights advance of the 1960s.
