Strategic management and planning is a great managerial strategy that enhances performance, profitability and productivity through identification of required chances and implementing suitable changes (Jiang, 2007). JetBlue’s recent CEO, David Berger, played a major role in developing the current management strategies. The strategic plan is based on four different elements that foster its implementation from the identification of the plan to the final stages of implementation. The first element entails formulation of a strategic vision and mission. This element is based on bringing focus into the vision in order to work towards the set mission. Based on the information provided, JetBlue has formulated a vision and mission statement that goes hand in hand with the strategic plan as they both seek to enhance suitable and affordable customer services. Secondly, the strategic plan is based on a suitable strategy that discusses the company’s values to that they deliver. This element is suitably indicated through the values statement, which is determined at JetBlue Company through appropriate communication and interaction between the management team. From the article, JetBlue seeks to achieve this element through enhancing safety, fun and entertainment, comfort, appropriate customer care, enhancing passion, and integrity. Through this, the company will have successfully indicated the services they seek to offer. Thirdly, the strategic plan will entail development of a suitable goal and objective. From the concept provided, I understood the significance of understanding the main problem and formulating a quick recovery strategy. With this, it is clear that the strategy is not all about the individuals involved but all about communication towards a suitable recovery plan. Additionally, the concept provides a clear look at the recent issues facing businesses. The article has provided a clear look at JetBlue’s planning strategies that enabled the company to succeed and become the top airline company within the region.
