I found the concept of the Cosmic Christ in chapter 5 of Jesus Through The Centuries quite intriguing. I always thought when people called Jesus the ‘Cosmic Christ’ it was in reference to his continued being and presence in the lives of his believers after his death. I was unaware of the name ‘Jesus Christ of Logos’. Logos in Greek means reason. It means the same when applied to Jesus’ name and so much more at the same time. It is the word of God, as well as the divine revelation and at the same time so much more than both. Pelikan considers it “the reason and mind of the cosmos”.
