Howell expresses a wonderful truths in “Servant to Servant” and he states, “Jesus trained leaders who could endure suffering because they expected lasting fruit to come from their labors and because they believed that beyond their sacrifices awaited a glorious kingdom” . Jesus gives us a great example of a leader; through his message, missions, and ministry. True leadership was about being a servant to those in need and representing the Gospel not in terms of who is in charge, but rather in how each person carries out his or her role and common purpose in the missionary field .

In spite of his personal will, he illustrated a determination to carry out the Father’s will. This reminds me of Pastor Bill Winston of Metro Ministries in Harlem, NY; he modeled a Christ-centric passion in leadership model and serves with great passion, he survived several obstacles from being mocked, stabbed and even shot. He allows Christ-centric passion to override all things due to having the Father’s will as superior. Passion increase a momentum to achieve what appears impossible when there are great obstacles. In the midst of turbulence times and storm, He pace Himself and took the time to rest. Just like Jesus experience on the boat during the storm, there may be folks who get upset with you pacing yourself due to the circumstances, conditions and situations at hand. As a leader, this is a very crucial to operating the law of pacing daily and take a Selah moment (a time to pause and meditate) and rest as well; great wisdom strategies is granted in these precious times.
