Jesus Is Real Essay

The Bible is constantly scrutinized about its’ truth, credibility, and accurateness; in the end it is all true. There are countless groups and people that try to tear down the Bible but they all end of failing. This fall happens because the Bible is full of hard facts that are credible in their teachings, and give life to Jesus Christ. In the book The Case for Christ Lee Strobel comes to the conclusion that all the evidence proves that Christ is real. If all the evidence matches the teachings then the all of it is true. In order for the biographies of Christ to be trusted you have to have eyewitness accounts, to prove that it is correct. The biographies of Christ are ultimately found in the gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The …show more content…
The copies all somehow correspond with each other, telling the same stories, and saying the same things (Strobel 58). If all the books tell similar things then it has to be true. For all the people to have passed on the Bible from generation to generation there has to be some reliability in that (Strobel 60). With very early dates of parts of the Bible and thousands of copies that have been preserved for us shows that whoever wrote it wanted us to see it. Compared to other works the Bible in the purest of forms has more copies and the time between the words that were written beats the other works with flying …show more content…

The bible is from the original source and the word testament means testimony. Testimony means ‘proof or evidence that something exists or is true’ (merriam webster dictionary). The first stage of the four Gospels was based on the teachings and parables of Jesus during his lifetime when he travelled and preached about the ‘Reign of God’. During 30-33 AD, the idea of the Reign of God was at the centre of his instruction and way of life.…

When evaluated next to The Bible, Catherine Marshall’s Story Bible displays her ability to maintain the integrity of the story. The Bible tells the story of Jesus’ crucifixion in a factual and plain manner. For instance, when Jesus hangs on the cross it says, “One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: ‘Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!’ But the other criminal rebuked him.”…

In the first chapter Lee Strobel starts off by interviewing Craig L. Blomberg who is considered the foremost authority on the four gospels which serve as the autobiographies of Jesus' life. The purpose of the interview with Mr. Blomberg was to establish that gospels were in fact written by those individuals who authorship was given to. Mr. Strobel presents such ideas or…

For as long as it has existed, historians, philosphers, scientists, and everyone in between have questioned the credibility of the New Testament's account of the life of Jesus Christ. Athiests, agnostics, and Christians alike all doubt the feasability of the events depicted in the New Testament. 2In a world where science rules, it is unsurprising the events depicted in the Bible would be scoffed at by many, shrugged off as absurd. Others question how a book can last centuries in human hands without the story it tells being altered. 3Undoubtably, there is immense doubt as to the reliability of the Gospels, whether or not Jesus was in fact the son of God, and how it could be possibly for Jesus to have risen from the dead.…

Now more than ever, the world is more closely connected through the nearly-instantaneous exchange of ideas and information. This exchange of ideas means that collaboration for the advancement of knowledge on a particular subject is possible and facilitates advancements in that field. On the other hand, having access to the abundance of contrasting ideas also means that people have more to think about and more they can argue about. One of said arguments is whether the Bible is really trustworthy. There are too many different beliefs about the Bible to list them all, but some of the main ones are that the Bible is the word of God and true and trustworthy, the Bible is just a book written by man and, therefore, vulnerable to the weaknesses of any human-written work and fallible, or that the Bible is mostly true but has some inaccuracies, thus casting doubt as to whether it is inspired by God.…

    Bible Contradictions

Although many people believe the bible is corrupted and full of contradictions, to Christians the “contradictions” are different ways of describing the same object. The bible is a very reliable source and once the verses are broken down and looked further into the “contradictions” will not seem so contradictory anymore. The first contradiction comes from the verses of Mark 14:30 and Matthew 26:34. The problem is how many times did the rooster crow and what did Jesus really say? The answer to this is that, both books do not state how many times the rooster but state that Peter will deny the Lord three times.…

Yes, I believe it is possible to prove the Bible is the inerrant Word of God. However, the Bible tells us that we cannot come to know God through secular knowledge alone; we need the help of the Holy Spirit. “The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit” (1 Corinthians 2:14 NIV).…

Even though the original documents are gone, I know God has preserved the Word (matthew 24:35). We can know the true Word even today. I can trust it, because God has told Christians that we must treat the Word with utmost care. Those few corrupt copies are due to laziness or a lack of respect for the Word. However, these errors are easy to spot and…

The four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John all portray the miraculous work and life of Jesus Christ. They provide historic information about Jesus Christ that Christians believe God used to draw them into a deeper personal relationship with Him. Described in the Old Testament, a great leader who would deliver Israel from control just as King David, came to be and was born of a virgin. “When the New Testament refers to Jesus as Christ, it’s not referring to Jesus’ surname but rather to Jesus’ title as messiah, as king” (Hiles and Smith, 2014). In Colossians 1, Jesus’ true identity is stated as the “image of the invisible God” (Colossians 1:15).…

    Attestation In Religion

Many people struggle with this second coming of Jesus or the validity of his Resurrection, and with most modern-day societies busy cultures, many choose to ignore anything which will lead to an end of this material world. Of the five historical criteria for researching Jesus, is multiple attestation, because I can relate to seeking more “witnesses” about his Resurrection. Being that this action, is one of the most important staples of the Christian religion, and any evidence against this would destroy a large group’s faith, yet even modern historical evidence point to the evidence that many wrote about Jesus and his Resurrection. While most of the understanding of this religion requires faith to determine truth, but finding numerous sources…

I believe that Jesus is the Messiah. The definition of savior according to the dictionary is a person who saves someone or something from danger, and who is regarded with the veneration of a religious figure. According to Luke Timothy Johnson, Jesus is the Messiah who the New Testament declares is the Son of God who came to this earth to suffer willingly and die for our sins. I am going to compare the description above with some other ideas about who many theologians think Jesus is.…

The Bible is one of the oldest pieces of literature that exists. It has been written and rewritten in many different languages, with each translation having its own mistakes and contradictions. Not only could some argue that the Bible has been lost in translation, but it does not help that it was also written by many different authors. There is not just one source of the Bible but many. All of these facts bring into question the reliability of the Bible.…
