Jesus Interview

chose to interview my father, who I also consider my friend. I wanted to see where his understanding is in regards to the questions and the historical Jesus. I think some of the answers may have been different depending on who was asked, their upbringing, and religion. I realized that some of the questions could be quite difficult to answer if you didn’t have time to study the questions because individuals do not always look deeply into certain aspects of their faith until being prodded.
When asked who is Jesus and why was he born? He answered, saying that Jesus is God and came to reconcile the world. He stated that the world needed a savior and he wanted to fulfill the scriptures. I thought this was an excellent explanation and fits well with the teachings of the Christ of Faith. In the Gospel of Luke, he speaks about Jesus being the Son of God, but the given answer is also correct that Jesus is God.
When asked what are the most important values and teachings of Jesus he responded by saying the commandments are the most important teachings from Jesus. He went on to say that, loving God with all thy heart and loving thy neighbor are the most important commandments. He clarified that loving thy neighbor also includes loving your enemy.

I think it was quite the opposite and he didn’t want to show everyone who he is by performing miracles. Tatum says, “”Signs” are what Jesus’ opponents demand of him and what Jesus refuses to perform, namely, unequivocal demonstrations that he is God” (Tatum, W. B., 1999, P. 208).
