Jesus Death In The Gospels: Christianity Vs. Islam

Improved Essays
Still according to the Qur’an, as a messenger, Jesus performed many miracles only by the will and permission of the Father Who, on the contrary to Jesus has power and control over all things (5:110). Finally, as far as Jesus’ death is concerned, a first belief is that Jesus was not killed, but instead He was lifted up by the father (Qur’an 4:156-157). A second one claims that Jesus was substituted before ascending to God (Abdullah Yusuf, 1989). Until today, Muslim still believe that the Gospels have been distorted to turn Jesus into something He never claimed to be (Lyle Vander Werff, 1989).
In comparison to Islam, Christianity has more to say about in Christ. Like Muslims, Christians believe that Jesus was miraculously born of the Virgin Mary

The Muslim Jesus is a British documentary from the year 2007. Historically, Christians and Muslims have clashed due to their beliefs, and what is so crucial about this documentary is that it challenges the fact that Christians and Muslims are more alike than different; in this case, due to both Christians and Muslims viewing Jesus as an important prophet. The film revolves around how Islam regards Jesus and compares the Islamic view with the Christian view. The film also incorporates Ninian Smart’s Six Dimensions of Religion as it compares and contrasts the sister religions of Christianity and Islam. We have NO written evidence or antique texts describing Jesus being crucified. “The Bible has been misinterpreted as there are no explicit references the use of nails or to crucifixion - only that Jesus bore a "staurus" towards Calvary which is not necessarily a cross but can also mean a "pole".” claims the scholar.
