Jesus and Muhammed Review The book, Jesus and Muhammad, by F.E. Peters show the parallel lives of Jesus and Muhammed. F.E. Peters, Francis Edward Peters, is a retired professor from New York University and taught Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies and Religion. In addition, he taught classics, philosophy, urbanism, Middle Eastern history, and Islamic Studies. E.F. Peters is a knowledgeable man and leader in the field of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Peters book Jesus and Muhammad, takes place in ancient history. Jesus lived during the first century, and Muhammad lived about 600 years after him during the seventh century. Peter’s illustrates the similarities of Jesus and Muhammad by comparing side by side their quite parallel lives, and gives the reader information and insight about these prophets and their religions. In his book, Jesus and Muhammad, Peters compares the parallel lives of the prophets of Christianity and Islam. In the chapter titled, “The Message: Muhammad at Mecca”, he states, “Like Jesus, Muhammad was a reformer rather than a revolutionary.
