Jessica Ellen Cornish, better known as Jessie J, started her career at the age of 11. She was born and raised in London and is an English singer. Jessie J is not only a singer, but a song writter. She began her career by writing songs for Miley Cyrus, but after, Jessie J had her debut for her album “Who You Are” where she gained fame. She is 27 years old and already has a strong music career in the genres of R&B and Pop. In her album “Who You Are” are found her greatest hits like “Who You Are”, “Price Tag”, “Nobody’s Perfect”, “Do it like a Dude”, and “Mama knows Best” all send out great messages. The way her songs are formed, they flow perfectly and is successful because it grabs the attention of the audience. The song’s beat and words make the audience not only listen to the song but sing the song. The structure of her songs have won many awards because her voice gives the songs life. Jessie J not only has a strong impowering voice, but she is also a great performer which is essential for herself and for the songs to stand out. In her performences she always likes to interact with her fans, this important because she acknowleges them. Besides her voice and great performences another essential thing she does are her music videos. The videos catch ones’ eye and gives a visual look on what the song is really about. It is like an extra push to the song’s message and explanation. In her song “Nobody’s Perfect,” she sings about regret, and wishing to turn the time back to fix what she had done. The song is about not realizing what she had and taking trust for granted. It is a strong song, but once you see the music video it gives you a visual of how sorry she is and the wishes she has to change the decisions she made in the past.
