Jessica Perez Biography “I live with my mom, stepdad, older sister, older brother, and also my grandparents.” she begins. Jessica Perez is not the average student at Mission San Jose High school. Juggling both her life, education, and her family between the 24 hours that make up a day, she accomplishes what seems impossible. As she describes it, “My whole life has been really tough.” Though not very close to her family she not only cares for them by preparing meals and cleaning the house, she also cares for her dog and lives a very independent lifestyle. Only in 10th grade, she works and purchases her needs and desires with the money she earns. She buys her own school supplies, clothing, pays her own phone bill, and much more. Nowadays Jessica enjoys cheerleading, playing soccer, and enjoys spreading joy to everyone because no one used to do that to her when she was growing up. …show more content…
Being a very sensitive person, any minor insult hurt her greatly. As a result, she was bullied intensively, with every stick and every stone making her feel like shattered glass. Hard days meant long days of soccer, for it helped her relax and appreciate life. Her older brother also helped coping and cultivated her courage. Sick and tired of her bullies making her feel “worthless” Jessica fended for herself in 8th grade, confronting her bullies by fighting back. With great courage she learned to stand up for herself and felt confident and upbeat about going to school. With a sense of burden lifted off her shoulders, all was better until her life took another drastic
