As of now society has shied away from revealing victim’s stories. Speaking out about past traumas and seeking help is viewed as a private matter. This secrecy if keeping traumas private devalue a women’s experiences. Jessica Jones breaks these socially constructed barriers by taking trauma and her experience in to mainstream media. She forces the public to see and understand her pain and struggles. She reveals the reality of her experiences and shows women as well as men the difficulties healing can reveal.
