Owens was put through intense training with coach, Larry Snyder. ¨Snyder who thought Owens´ race starts were too slow, made the athlete repeatedly practice starts that had him crouching tightly at the starting line¨(Greer 1). Without the intense training he would not be the fastest man in the world. Even though these training sessions were very intense Owens still came because of his love for the sport and his dedication. Owens had poor grades in high school so the summer before college he had to pass a series of exams that finally qualified him to enter college.
