Jersey Lanes: A Career In My Life

Decent Essays
A job I've held in my life was at a bowling alley called Jersey Lanes, my very first job I've ever had. It was a very complicated job and stressful but my coworkers made the job so cool and relaxing at times. Telling about some of the people from my job instead of saying their real name I'm going to use fake names Susan, Kevin, and Robert. Susan was the type of person that was cool; she was a cook and worked at the front desk. Kevin was a friend of the family, and he also was a cook. Everybody liked him, and he worked two jobs. Robert was the hard worker that took his work serious; he worked on the floor.
Susan was one of the cool girls who is actually a guy now. She used to make sure I was cool during work; I worked with her on the weekends

Two years ago, my boyfriend and I brought his two daughters to Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ for the first time. We all loved roller coasters, except for the youngest daughter because she had never been on a roller coaster before. I knew that if she did not go on a ride that my boyfriend would have to stay behind her. When we were walking into the park, I continued to tell her that I know she will go on all the roller coasters. She would then respond to me each time with “No I won’t”.…

I am an attendant at Chick-fil-a, I don’t think I have any specific title because I am pretty much doing everything, whether it is working with the cash registers or working in the kitchen. My first position though I was working in the kitchen, however after considering it was a high pace restaurant, the first two weeks in the back I felt like it was too much pressure. So I asked to work in the front area of the restaurant, and it was so much less pressure and it became easier to adapt to the environment of Chick-fil-a. After a few months of working at the restaurant I ended up having appendicitis and a bacterial infection, so I was out for a couple months. After having that experience and learned that it was God that saved my life, and reflecting…

My first job was one that I had foolishly not considered an 'actual job' until the first day of training, and then another, more prominent realization the first couple days as I started. I applied to work in a position called a Camphand at the summer camp I had been going to for a few years, Camp Chrysalis. Fresh out of my junior year of high school, this was an exciting new opportunity for my peers and I to start working at camp after being a camper in an age appropriate setting. In my head, things had reversed for the better in comparison to the past. Instead of having to pay to go to camp, I was now getting paid to be at camp!…

    1. Something really positive from my workplace is that I get to try new things by stepping outside of my comfort zone. There were certain tasks that I got really nervous doing at first but then as time went on I got the hang of it, such as taking over the phone system. Also, I've got the opportunity to observe and learn about what it's like to be a lawyer and many of the procedures and tasks that they do every day. Since what we see on T.V is very different from how lawyers actually spend their time.…
