Jerry's Short Story

Jerry's sitting at his desk trying to figure out what to do next. The few history books he borrowed from the library briefly mentioned how the slaves used the Underground Railroad to escape to freedom, but they didn't give any specific details. Closing the last book he started thinking about other ways to locate their suspect.
"Maybe I should try and figure out who he'd run too for help. Since he doesn't have any family left, I'll start with his recent employer, see what he can tell me. I bet his PO would help me out too," he concludes, grabbing the gear off of his desk.
"I know where the tunnel leads, Jerry!" Turning around he sees Jeff running towards him.
"Mrs. Brown said her great grandma use to tell her stories about how her ancestors

Be sure to explain to the suspects that if the evidence backs up their story we'll release them." Rachel walks back to her suspect.
"You're your grandson needs to take a ride to the station until we can analyze the evidence."

"I didn't know Tony had a son?"
"No one did. See, his mother kept the baby's parents a secret, claiming Georgie as her own. She thought it's better for the baby that way."
"How could not telling him the truth be better for the baby?"
"George's mother was only 15 when she had him. When he was a week old she realized she couldn't handle the responsibility and left. Tony was too mentally unstable to take care of newborn at that time, so my daughter figured it'd be easier on the child if he thought she's his mother and his father died."
"Does he know the truth now?"
"Yes, he found out on his own last year. My daughter was right. He did take it hard."
"I wonder why Tony killed the others, but let the baby live?"
"I don't think that was his intentions at all, detective."
"Why do you say that?"
"The way Georgie was found, I think Tony left him to die. He would have too if the officers hadn't searched the house when they did."
