Love and friendship are as important as it is because if you ever need anyone to talk to or to help you in any way, someone is always there to guide you in the best direction. A quote that helps support this part of the plot is “Kevin Quinlan and I usually agreed on everything. We had been best friends since arriving in Arizona the same week for four years before. We both through the prickly pear cactus looked like ping-pong paddles with whiskers, and that saguaros looked like dinosaur mittens. W both loved strawberry-banana smoothies.” It is important to talk about love and friendship because love and friendship is the most important thing in life. My novel, “Stargirl”, presents loves in friendship, in both a negative and positive way. It was shown in a negative way because it showed how people will be fake friends with you just because of how popular you are, like how no one wanted to be Stargirls friend when she wasn’t popular anymore. But it also showed the positive way because it showed that a true friend will stick with you through anything, like how Dori remained Stargirls friend even when she wasn’t
