(p.59, Stanovich) Vividness effect was use in the video because Jenny McCarthy retrieved the relevant information that has to do with her son’s vaccines. For example, she mentioned, “Without a doubt in my mind vaccines triggered Evan’s autism.” This clearly shows how when Jenny talks about vacancies, she chooses to only recall the information that mostly concerns her. Jenny McCarthy even mention, “Evan, my son died in front of me for 2 minutes.” The fact that she uses vividness effect overshadowed other information that can be more reliability. People are more likely to use personal and compelling stories instead of what is truly
