Jem And Scout Monologue

I arrived in Maycomb last week after a long, tiring train ride. Thank you for allowing me to come here. Maycomb is a small town in Southern Alabama, most of the people are laid back but unfortunately some are racist. But my friends Jem and Scout are really nice and also adventurous. Scout is an interesting person. She is very smart for her age. She could read before she even started first grade, and she’s only 6 years old. Surprisingly her teacher had asked her to stop reading and that Atticus shouldn’t be teaching her. Now she really hates school, she keeps on begging Atticus to homeschool her. She is even trying to convince him by cursing to prove to him the school is a bad influence. They made a compromise that if she stays in school he will still read with her. She is pretty brave, she once stood up to a teacher to defend Walter Cunningham. That ended up with getting slapped in the hand with a ruler but the teacher. She is a tomboy and doesn’t like wearing dresses. She will only wear a dress to church because she has to. She is also adventurous, she goes with me and Jem to get near the Radley House. We attempted to send a letter too Boo through a window but it failed and Atticus caught us.Scout is very curious, she bombards Atticus with questions. At times, she can be very argumentative toward Atticus and Jem. She is also very stubborn. She is also romantic, when we get old enough, we will get married. Boo had walked with her to his house and she made sure that it looked like he was being a gentleman so if Ms. Stephanie Crawford was watching, she would know he was actually a gentleman so that was kind of her to think about his reputation. In conclusion, I have enjoyed my stay in Maycomb so far. Scout is part of the reason I love staying here. She is a great friend and a tough person for having to deal with all the hate from other children and
