To be apart of a religious minority community means to be different from your peers. Growing up as a Jehovah’s Witness was very challenging, but I saw the benefits as I grew older. I struggled as a child because there were rarely kids around me who shared the same beliefs as me. With there currently being only 8 million Witnesses worldwide, running into one outside of my congregation would be rare. During certain celebrations, such as Halloween and Christmas, I could not participate because of these beliefs, and I would feel left out and lonely while I watched the other children enjoy themselves.
