My heart is beating quickly, my mouth is dry, and as I look at the familiar faces in front of me, their judging eyes make them seem like strangers. For my service project I chose to conduct an interview with someone who practices a faith different from mine so I interviewed a Mormon. Some might consider Mormonism to be part of the Christian faith, but I would readily argue that it has differences that are substantial and irrefutable. I had always wondered about the beliefs of the people who spend their youth in ties knocking on doors and several movies made the differences seem pretty extreme. I began to wonder what it is that they really believe and how they can make it make sense in the world that we live in.…

When anyone asks me what my culture identity is, the first thing to pop into my head is everything I am surrounded by and the closest people to me, also the activities I do on the daily and how it is done. Culture is something that is shared and learned as you grow up. What you learned is partially who you end up being in the future whether you can identify it or not. I define my culture identity as the things I am closest to and who I am closest to, which happens to be Jehovah God, his word the bible, and my family and closest friends.…

I was extremely nervous before I met with Lisa, the field instructor. I arrived at the Starbucks 20 minutes early to ensure that we would have a table to sit at, and ordered a drink so that the employees would not be angry that I was sitting at the table without spending money, and waited for Lisa to arrive. She arrived 3 minutes past our meeting time, which is not unusual because of traffic, but made me wonder if I had messed up the date and time. I triple checked the email that she sent to make sure that I was at the right location on the right day and time, and tried to google a picture of her as well to make sure that she was not already there. It was an extremely nerve wracking 20 minutes to say the…
