Jeffrey Dahmer's Influence On Human Behavior

Jeffrey Dahmer was born on May 21, 1960 in West Allis, Wisconsin. His parents only had two kids, Jeffrey and David. They were seven years apart and Jeffrey chose the name for his little brother. The mother’s name is Joyce and the father is Lionel Dahmer.
His behavior was just like any other kid until around age six when he got a double hernia. He started to act differently, he became increasingly insular and lacked self confidence. Soon, his brother was born and his insecurities deepened. He became more and more introverted. He began to dissect animals behind his house and was “fascinated by the way their bones fit together”. In high school, he didn’t have a lot of friends. His parents got divorced, and he became an alcoholic.

Dahmer was 18 at the time and had just got out of high school. His dad had been gone on a business trip for a few days and he was scheduled to be gone a few more. As Jeffrey Dahmer was driving home, he picked up a hitchhiker. The name of the hitchhiker was Steven Hicks. He invited Hicks to come to his house and hang out and drink some beer. After a while, Hicks started to become uncomfortable. This was probably due to Dahmer’s creepy sense of humor and weird personality. Hicks decided to leave and said goodbye. As he was heading for the door, Dahmer hit him in the back of the head with a 10 pound dumbbell. He then strangled him with the dumbbell. Jeffrey Dahmer cut up Hicks and crushed the bones with a sledgehammer. He then hid the remains of Hicks in a plastic bag in a crawlspace in his …show more content…
Most of them included African Americans and all of them were males. He often picked his victims up from gay bars. He would meet them, promise them sex, and then take them to his apartment. He would have sex with them, and then he would kill them. He would then dismember their bodies. He would often take pictures of their dismembered bodies. Studies show that psychopaths sometime get sexual pleasure from images of dead bodies and gory scenes. This is why Dahmer took these pictures. He would later view the pictures and masturbate to them, thinking about the experience in killing
