Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer, a notorious serial killer and sex offender in the years of 1978-1991 held a unholy secret in his apartment in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He killed around seventeen men and violated most of them: rape, dismemberment, necrophilia, and cannibalism were involved in these murders. He was only charged with fifteen counts of murder and was sentence to nine hundred and fifty-seven years in prison. He went under a minor hernia surgery that seem to go as planned, some of Dahmer’s family members reported that his personality was forever altered” (Listland). Which may have been the result of extreme pain suffered before and after the surgery could possibly have influenced later feelings of sexual incapability or insecurity. “Dahmer’s father claimed that it was from this time on that Jeffrey began to become more and more withdrawn and introverted from the world” (Timeline). Also, when Jeffrey Dahmer’s younger brother was born, his first grade teacher stated that she noticed that Jeffery seemed to feel neglected but this of course was a normal reaction. Lionel Dahmer, Jeffery’s father, “describes him as being extraordinarily shy and withdrawn during this period, actually terrified of new people and situations” (Timeline). In the year of 1968, the Dahmer family moved to Bath, Ohio. In this time, Lionel reported that Jeffrey was sexually abused by a neighbor boy and Jeffrey himself claimed to remember no such thing happening.
