Jeff Gaffney’s affinity for Charlottesville and the surrounding areas began during his time at the University of Virginia. Like most students who attend the University, he fell in love with the rich history, the Blue Ridge Mountains and the culture of Charlottesville. While attending the University of Virginia, Jeff met his wife Motana, a Charlottesville native, and that cemented his passion for Charlottesville and the surrounding areas.

Jeff has a proven track record of success, which began in his college career. Jeff is one of only a few athletes in UVA history to excel in two sports. Jeff found similar success off the field, in real estate, being named Top Producer for the Forest Lakes Office in 1989 and the Sales Manager for the Real Estate III Forest Lakes Office in 1991. Jeff held this position until he was promoted in 1995 to Director of Sales and Marketing for both Glenmore and Forest Lakes, a position he would hold for 10 years. In 2000 Jeff was named Senior Vice President of Real Estate III. In 2002 Jeff was named Chairman of the Company. In 2004 Jeff was named CEO of Real Estate III. Real Estate III has benefitted from Jeff’s leadership with $8 billion in sales since 2000. While Jeff’s success as the leader of Real Estate III was unprecedented, his passion for assisting clients find their dream homes was still front and center. While Jeff remains the CEO for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate III , as well as the managing broker and top producer for the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate III Glenmore office, he has returned to his passion of selling homes. It is this success that has allowed for the growth of his relationship with the UVA Athletic Department and helping coaches navigate the Charlottesville real estate market. Jeff has worked with a variety of the UVA coaching staff including, Bruce Arena, former men’s soccer coach; George Gelnovatch, current men’s soccer coach; Tony Bennett, men’s basketball coach; Richie McKay, former men’s basketball assistant coach; Bronco Mendenhall, head football coach.

In addition to Jeff’s ties to the University of Virginia Athletic Department, he has many connections to both the University of Virginia and Martha Jefferson Hospitals, often assisting doctors and their families to find their dream homes and settle into the community.

It is Jeff’s love of this community that really shines through in his experience. Jeff has dedicated many countless hours of his time volunteering for various organizations to better the community. Jeff has served on the board of directors for Charlottesville Police Foundation, United Way, I Have A Dream Foundation, and has served on the board of the Charlottesville Chamber of Commerce for 8 years, as well as the former President of the Charlottesville Association of Realtors.
