Why games?
Nothing can get my students going like a game or contest. A good Bible game can even reinforce the lesson plan and provide an interactive way to reinforce your message. Teaching preteens can be a challenge--not quite as impressionable as younger students, but not the maturity of teenagers either. If you are a preteen Sunday School teacher, it is important to include fun into your lessons to engage your students. Plan games that will help middle school youth loosen up and focus their energies on the lessons. Sometimes, having kids compete against each other makes them try harder to succeed. Display all five topics and begin the game show.
Allow the first member of the first team to choose a topic and a point value for a question.
Read this question. Player gets 30 seconds to answer the question.
If the answer is correct, the team gets the number of points. If incorrect, they lose the points.
Play goes to the next team.
Repeat allowing the second player on each team to select and answer until the board is complete.
With “Buzzer” system
Split all players into 3 teams.
Create a scoreboard on a whiteboard or on paper if you wish.
Display all five topics and begin the game show.
Allow the first team to choose a topic and a point value for a question.
Read this question and allow players buzz (see below for different buzzer ideas) in if they want to answer the question.
If someone on a team answers a question correctly, they gain that number of points. If they get it wrong, they lose that number of points.

Raise hands.
Have a team captain raise their hand.
Auction-style fan? More visible than a raised hand
Call out team number, name or designated sound.
