Rey is a 19 year old scavenger girl living a tranquil life on the desert Planet Jakku after being abandoned by her parents when she was young. However, that all changes when she finds a small droid named BB-8 who holds the missing fragment of a map that leads to the notorious and valiant Luke Skywalker. She encounters many enemies along the way, but none as heinous as the antagonist, Kylo Ren. Throughout the movie, it alludes to the great Skywalker being her father, as she discovers she is force-sensitive. I am convinced that she is related to the most powerful Jedi of all time, Ben ‘Obi-Wan’ Kenobi.…

A little over two decades after his fall to the Dark Side, Anakin (as Darth Vader) eventually returns to the Light Side of the Force. I argue that his acceptance of Stoic values near the conclusion of Return of the Jedi allows him to redeem himself. Throughout the prequel trilogies, Anakin does show some hints of Stoic values, even though he consistently fails to uphold them and refuses to follow the Jedi Code. After he executes Count Dooku, he comments to Palpatine that he should not have killed him as it was against the Jedi way (Attack of the Clones). Anakin at least demonstrates an ability to adhere to the Code that he swore to uphold and a consciousness of his rule-breaking, which foreshadows his ability to convert later in his life.…

Although Adolf Hitler can go down as one of the greatest antagonist to ever walk amongst history books or films, Star Wars contains similar, if not the same, storyline minus it’s futuristic appeal. Underlining the lightsabers and awesome space battles, Lucas warns his audience to stay united and strong even during times of turmoil. When society becomes desperate, people become most vulnerable. George Lucas wanted to include a fascist look of the Empire so much so, while giving his commentary of the film, he alludes to his Stormtroopers as Nazis.…

Jedi believe in a force that connects everything in the universe. The best definition I have seen is in episode 8 of the StarWars movies when Luke explains it to Rey.…

During my research of Anakin Skywalker, I had run into some challenges getting to know him on a deeper level. I was also able to connect the storyline to new historicism, and view on how Anakin relates to coming of age. The main thing that I found to be challenging about my characters was finding the films. Growing up, my family and I never sparked an interest in the Star Wars movies, so we never watched them.…

Darth Vader stands at a towering six-foot eight-inches and wears a black and bulky suit with a black cape and a belt around his waist that holds his lightsaber and gun. He wears an intimidating mask that covers his entire face, without his mask, Vader would die unless in his specially pressurized meditation rooms. His suit is made as a life support suit because Darth Vader nearly lost his life at one time when fighting against his former Jedi-Kinight master, Obi-Wan Kenobi (1). Vader was once a courageous Jedi-Knight but later was seduced to the dark side of the force and became an extremely powerful Sith Lord(2), which is a title for people who have a deep knowledge of the dark side of the force, for the Empire. In his past, Darth Vader…

The samurai and knights are one of the most skilled warriors that has ever existed. This essay will discuss whether a samurai or knight would win in a battle against each other. While knights and samurai have many similarities, in one battle, the advantage would be to the samurai and this can be seen in weapons, beliefs, and training. To begin with, the first way that the samurais have an advantage is because of their weapons. For example, in document D, “Samurai did not wear armor on their right arm so they can easily draw their bow.”…
