As of right now Americans pay the most for prescriptions in the world and his six step plan goes as follows: Negotiate a better deal, import prescriptions from Canada, more discounts for low income seniors, bring back generic drugs, harder penalties for frauds, and lastly transparency when it comes to drug pricing and costs. In negotiating a better deal Sanders believes that Medicare should negotiate better prices with drug companies (currently banned right now). By importing drugs from Canada, Americans should not have to pay more than it neighbor for the exact same thing and it cuts on spending.
