Rex then tells the story of the time Lori Jeanette’s older sister was stung by a scorpion and had went into convulsions and gotten stiff and instead of taking her to a hospital he took her to a Navajo witch doctor who treated her and she got better. Rex States that he doesn’t trust hospitals and that Rose Mary, Jeanette’s mother should have taken her to the Navajo witch doctor. He quotes that he would’ve been better and “not these heads up their asses med school quacks.”(Page 13) Rex in a whole seems very chill and not bothered by the fact she was burnt and mad at Rose Mary but madder she was taken to the hospital. This shows that he is more of the naturalist type and hippie of sorts. He then gets into a fight with the doctor whether or not the wounds should be uncovered to heal and then almost gets into a fist fight with him. Rex later returns when her wounds are nearly healed and tells her that they are leaving Rex Wall’s Style. They then instead of checking out just make a dash for the car parked out front with the rest of the family there
