Jean Piaget’s Cognitive Development theory was inspired by observing his own children and eventually other people as well. Piaget suggested that people and children in particular learn through experience. He suggested that when we face a new experience or obstacle are brain is forced think in a new way and come up with a resolution. By doing this our brain becomes more sophisticated and better equipped for handling the situation if it happens again. Because we already went through that certain experience the next time we come face to face with it will already know what to, and if you face an obstacle that you have not encountered you still use the same steps you used before and attempt to figure it out. His theory offers a different way of measuring intelligence than the traditional IQ test. His theory proposes that intelligence can’t be observed or measured in one single way, instead it takes many fields to measure intelligence. From this idea Garder developed eight areas of criteria for measuring intelligence which include Logical - mathematical, Linguistic, Bodily - Kinesthetic, Musical, Spatial, Interpersonal, Intrapersonal, and Naturalist. This theory has been modified to be used for education by teachers having to model their lesson plans involving some of these intelligences. This provides students who learn different than other students a way for them to learn material in a way that is understandable for them. For example if a class is learning about trees then the lesson might include reading about trees from a book for linguist learners, but might also include touching different types of trees for kinesthetic learners. The end result should be the same for all the intelligences and should result in the students being comfortable and remembering what they learned. In Holler If You Hear Me MR. Michie is given complete control of a media class and decides to model it according to many of the the multiple intelligences that were developed by Gardner. The class focus on the role of media and how it affected his students lives. In the class Mr. Michie gave many options to an assignment and the students had to pick which one they wanted to. The students had the option to produce and record a news segment of how they want the news to be portrayed, or the could have taken any song and find the true meaning of the song by studying and analysing the lyrics. At the beginning of the class many students didn 't sound sound excited about the class, according to Mr. Michie many of the students were falling asleep, but
