Is our generation narcissist? Are you narcissist? What is narcissism, narcissism is being overly self confident in yourself meaning thinking you can do whatever you want and thinking that your better than everyone else and thinking you are awesome pretty much. Our generation is said to be the most narcissistic generation actually they are calling it a narcissism epidemic because some psychologist believe that so many people are narcissistic. This book is about our generation being narcissist and self-centered due to how our parents have raised us. Jean m Twenge is pro narcissist and trying to fix what she calls this epidemic in the world and making it a better place. Twenge also wrote that the cons of narcissism is nothing will ever be good enough for you sometimes not even your own family, thinking that the world revolves around you, less attention on others, never being satisfied with your work, disconnection with reality meaning everything has to go your way or its not …show more content…
She also says that having a moderate amount can be beneficial to a persons well being and people with a larger dose of adaptive narcissism can become self sufficient, able to get jobs easily and lead there company’s and seem to cope better with anxiety and their social lives. Some people think that the world needs more narcissists because the world is lacking leaders and needs people who know how to be a boss. They also believe that narcissists have the supreme confidence, which would make for a great leader or a great boss because if you believe you are better than everyone else, they will as well. My opinion on narcissism if its good or bad is that I think its both. Narcissism can be bad when people do get to be the boss and leader but than they take it too far with thinking that they are better than everyone else. It can also be bad when they people that think they are better than everyone else are actually not and that could lead to violence or people getting hurt. Also over confident people in my opinion can some times be annoying especially when they shouldn’t be over confident and that can cause some people to lose friends or not want to hang out with those over confident people because all they do is talk about how awesome they
