In 1790 there was a boy who would make his mark on history. He was known as Jean Lafitte. A young man that was sea-struck. Jean Lafitte lived with an exceedingly large family of ten children, including him. On the south of a river known as Ardour, he and his brothers Pierre, Jacques, Antoine, and Mark would play on the banks of Ardour a river in France. He became a pirate obtaining many treasures. The british requested Lafittes assistance in gaining foothold of mississippi. He was one of the most respected men in the war. During the war he was given 30,000$. June 3, Lafitte left New orleans to go to galveston. Lafitte left Galveston on April 18 to report to Sedella, and on May 8 conferred with Felipe Fatio, who had been sent from Cuba to direct the plot to capture Aury and his men. He managed to provide crucial help to the US army by using his naval artillery cannons. After the war Lafitte was still a threat to the US. The governor of Louisiana put a 500$ reward on lafitte’s head. In response he put a 50,000$ reward on the governor. AlAury bid lafitte farewell. As he remained the master of Galveston after his return in September 1817, and made it a center for smuggling and privateering. When the expedition of Charles Francoise Antoine Lallemand arrived Lafitte reacted with a ipping of his hat in the sense of non hostility. Lafitte was a great pirate. He had a plentiful amount of treasures and accomplishments that made him proud of what he had done with his life. Hes collected and/or stolen gold, treasure, artifacts, and weapons during his exhilarating life. He became one of the most menacing pirates of all time. Sadly he kicked the bucket when he was only 47. It was from a strange unknown sickness that killed him. He even managed to betray his own men.
