How good of a villain is Iago? Does a villain have any fears of any kind while accomplish their tasks? In Shakespeare Othello, Iago is a great villain he gains everyone’s trust and that was the best weapon he had. “Honest Iago” was able to get information that could continue helping him with his plans, Lago had fear from the beginning "Thou told'st me thou didst hold him in thy hate" (1.1.7) said to Roderigo.

One of the plans that Iago had was to get Cassio drunk and get him in trouble so he could get demoted from the lieutenant position, Iago plan works perfectly it also shows his ability to make things happen. Iago is bold guy doesn’t show weakness while destroying other people’s life’s he doesn’t fear any of them, The fears that he shows are the ones about him the fear of trust is a big thing that Iago shows, he sees how other people are trusting him with information but he uses his that information for his evil plans, Iago knows well that he can’t trust many people and give them information about himself because they might turn their backs just as he is doing to others. By playing the role of both trustworthy friend and sly controller, Iago illustrates how one man’s knowledge of human nature can direct the actions of those around him.
